This is a short list of the more popular movies put up on the big screen in 2008. This list consists of the movies I enjoyed watching this year. I'm sure that you can find a picture or two that are good viewing.
ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, a couple of energy drink sales people, are going to see some hard jail time after destroying the company vehicle while binging. The only way to avoid jail time is to perform 150 hours of community service. The problem is they will need to mentor some kids in a big brother type situation. Here is a good situation for some good laughs.
IRON MAN: Playboy, engineer genius, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is kidnapped by Afghan rebels. He is instructed to build missiles for the insurgent group. He was wounded when his convoy was attacked, and has metal in his chest. To live through this life threatening wound, and break away from his enemies, he develops a suit of armor, which makes him virtually invincible. We now have another super hero, Iron Man.
FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL: Following a break up with long time girlfriend Sarah, (a television actor), Peter finally plans to escape to Oahu to start anew and forget about Sarah. As you might guess, when he checks into the resort hotel, he looks up and sees Sarah and her new lover, who has it all. This sets up as a fun filled romantic comedy.
THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, and law enforcement officials, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. Crime is now down, that is until the Joker shows up, and things get a lot worse. Batman is in a battle now, as the Joker has unleashed his criminal plots on the big city.
WANTED: Wesley Gibson is about to learn that his long lost father is a contract killer. When his father is killed, Wesley is basically forced into the organization that his dead father was involved with. He is asked to become the killing expert that he was meant to be. From there, things get extremely complicated. Enjoy the ride.
STEP BROTHERS: Two forty year old child adults, who both live at home with one parent, are going to share a room because their mom and dad get married, you can only imagine the mess. Put Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly playing the parts, and you have the ingredients for a raucous comedy. This comedy looks like a best bet for comedy lovers.
Jumper: During a near death experience, David Rice discovers he has an unbelievable ability. He has the ability to actually teleport himself to anywhere he desires to be, anytime he wants. Later, he becomes aware that he is not alone in having this ability. After he becomes used to jumping around the world, he learns that there are people that think jumpers are a threat, and need to be eliminated. He now must battle for his life, as these paladins believe he should die.
THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: It's only about one down the road in their normal lives when, the four saviors of Narnia, Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund magically reappear in Narnia. Running for his life, Prince Caspian has blown the magic horn, in a desperate plea for help. In their one year at home, centuries have passed in Narnia, but they have been called back to battle for the freedom of Narnia once again. With the aid of the best fighters in the Narnia, including a very brave mouse, they conquer their foes and free Narnia.
ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: The bills are piling up and Zack and Miri, roomies who have been friends since grade school, need to come up with some cash soon. The answer? Easy, start making porno movies. Obviously this seems like a good recipe for a great comedy.
