Water skiing is one of the most exhilarating water sports in the world. In this sport an individual riding on the surface of the water on a pair of skis or even a single ski, is pulled behind a motorboat. Sometimes a single motorboat could be pulling more than one skier and they could perform various feats. One of the most exciting and breathtaking feats is the formation of a Five-high pyramid by some 25 skiers.

Experience is the key word for multi skier feats and acts, but it can be fun to look forward to. The first thing in learning to ski is to master all the basic. Understand your equipment. I know how to stay safe. You might even want to take ski lessons from a professional water ski teacher. It will help you become a better skier fast, learn how to do the skiing safely, have a good time, and you can learn proper rules for not interfering with other people on the water trying to do the same thing.

Skiing is not all that difficult if you have a little balance and you need proper bearing to accomplish, and have fun at water skiing. There are a lot of places to ski and most people like to ski lakes; which is why Iad like to suggest that Minnesota, the Land of Lakes might be a great amenities for the beginning and advanced water skier.

If you are thinking about planning a summer vacation and want to learn how to water ski; Lake City has water ski camps. The camps are for kids, adults, novice or the experienced skier who wants to improve his skills on the water. The coaches are great and love what they do; and there are rumors that some people have been able to get up on the water and actually ski in the first hour. A good coach can help you look and feel like a pro, and they have the patience to teach the little ones. A few lessons and you are on your way to a great water vacation with future destinations all over the place.

An experienced skier will love having a really fast boat, and loves gliding and hopping over the wake. They will usually use the deep water style to let the boat pull them up out of the water. Some of the trick is to relax in the water with the skis just peeking out of the water. They have the rope in hand, and their arms should be straight. As the rope tightens the experienced skier will let the boat pick up speed, gradually, before letting the rope lift out of the water. Gliding across the shiny blue waves, with the wind hitting you in the face, one canat help but grin. It is so much fun.

Often the skier will get too anxious and try to rise up out of the water before the boat has taken on enough speed. He is promptly dumped back into the water, but the fun part is trying again. If someone is coaching a less experienced skier they might remind the skier to keep his arm straight, shoulders pulled back and the hips should be ahead of his shoulders at approximately a 45 degree angle. Letas try it again!

Kids love the water and water skiing can be a great family sport. There are a few tools that will make the job of teaching the kids how to water ski a bit easier. You might start out by trying the waterski boom, or barefoot. The boat is going a little slower, the young skier is closer to the instructor and they can hear your voice. It is still fun, but not as frustrating to learn if you can hear the instructions and little corrections clearly while you are learning. A lot of slalom skiers will use these same methods to master the fine art of skiing on one board. When the novice water skier gets a bit of confidence and experience they will want to try to start from the water too.

If you are trying to teach the little ones or learning how to ski the waterski boom is a great teaching tool. I think the most important things to remember is have fun, be patient with yourself and others, and remember to look around with wonder at how great it is to be able to water ski for fun.
